Vero Amore - Theodore Nott X Reader (Part 4)
Summary: Theodore is on trial for being associated with voldemort due to his father and family history, His odds arent looking so good. Luckily for him you are called to the stand to testify on his behalf, and you just might be the key to his innocence.
Fluff, established previous relationship, Exbf!Theo, Older!Theo and others. Post hogwarts.
Previous part here
The prosecution had painted Theodore as a greedy criminal, despite his previously spotless record. It was all about the chatter, and breaking away from the path his father had paved for him would have proven to be difficult. You were ushered back to your seat, away from the center of the courtroom. a mixture of skeptical and sympathetic faces passed you by, if these people wanted a love story, they got one. there was not a single ounce of dishonesty in either you or Theodore, or any of his witnesses'.
During closing arguments, Your escort gave an impassioned plea about Theodore's outstanding character and the complete lack of real evidence against him. The prosecution tried its best to poke holes, but their arguments rang hollow after everything. and it was now in the hands of the jury, you hoped and prayed they would be forgiving. After just an hour of deliberation, the jury returned with a verdict of not guilty on all charges and accounts. You finally let out the breath that felt like you had been holding for months. His life and reputation had been salvaged, he was no longer tied to his past. and he would not have to be sent away to suffer for his fathers wrongdoings. you were overjoyed, elated to be able to see him one day do all of the things he always dreamt of. Once the court was dismissed, you scurried over to Theodore to embrace him, he picked you up into the embrace, holding you closely with a huge breath of relief and fresh air. Blaise appeared, he had been sitting quietly somewhere in the courtroom, though you hadn't noticed. "I told you it wouldn't be so bad." he assured Theodore with a stern pat on the back. Theodore was practically in tears, happiness. "I'm so shocked," Theodore says, the courtroom is now being emptied. you are all being ushered to leave.
As the three of you continue forward into the lobby, Theodore lets out a heavy sigh. He says your name, gently. "I'm so happy you are here," he begins. "Thank you, so much. I am indebted to you." he says. You smile softly. "You don't have to thank me," you say. "I'm glad I could be here." you say.
After a sentimental moment between the two of you, Blaise is quick to leave. "I do have to get work now, but I'll leave you two to have a more proper reunion." he says. "It was great to see you again," you say politely. Blaise was never super close to you, although you were cordial since he was friends with theo. "Thanks, for everything. We'll celebrate at my place later, yeah?" he says, Blaise nods, and then is off.
"I don't suppose you have plans after this?" Theodore asks you as you both walk, exiting the ministry building spilling onto the busy street. "No, actually, my calendar is clear for the day." you explain. "Would you like to come to my place? we can catch up- I'd just like to properly thank you for being there today." he says, his hands reaching for his pockets. "That sounds really nice actually." you agree.
Before too long you are at Theo's small flat. It's messy and lived in. "Sorry it's a mess." he says. "But it's home." for someone that grew up a pureblood slytherin who was well off financially, it was quite modest. "It's fine. I don't mind it." you say, sitting at the kitchen island. Theo is standing on the other side. "Would you like a drink?" he offers. "sure" you say. Although you are both happy that he is now a free man, there is still a slight tension from spending so many years apart after school. you are both attempting to make up for the lost years. Theo offers you a glass with some tea, your favorite kind. He's incredibly thoughtful. "What happened to your father?" you ask, after some contemplation. "After the war, he realized he would be prosecuted. He attempted to flee to America, but he was caught and he passed shortly after." Theo says.
"I'm sorry to hear that." you say. "It's alright, I don't miss him. but he's the only family I ever had." he says sadly. "That isn't true," you retort. "You have draco, pansy, and blaise." you thought. "and me." you say softly. Theodore gives a grateful smile. there's a special exchange between you. His mother passed away when he was young and his father was awful... "The past few years have been rough," he sighs, running his fingers through his hair. "with the trial dragging on for so long, and with everyone busy moving on with their lives I always felt like I was stuck back in time... It's been really lonely." he says. "Sometimes I think back," you begin. "and I remember all the things we did, all the fun we had. Laughter, Tears, all of it. I'm sad it's gone now, but I'm grateful that it happened. Those are my best memories." you admit. "Seeing us in those memories kind of changed me." Theodore admits, biting his lip slightly. there is uncertainty. "What do you mean?" you question."I just meant that," he begins, but he back tracks, his hands resting on the counter behind him as he leaned back, his arms stiff. "I've been really lonely and part of that has to do with missing you." he exclaims. "For a long time I absolutely hated myself for leaving you there like that without an explanation, knowing that I ruined one of the best things I've ever had in my life. For a while I couldn't get out of bed, It was so heavy. But I asked you here today so that I could just let you know I'm sorry for that." His head is low, he's ashamed of himself. "Theodore, you don't have to apologize for that." He shook his head. "I do when I've thought about it almost everyday for years." he manages to say softly. "We all did things we aren't proud of, there was a war happening," you say. "That doesn't matter, but I am sorry," he says.
You shift in your seat, taking a sip of your tea and placing the cup on the counter. you swing your feet over the edge, and you are now standing in front of Theodore. "I know that you had to do that," you comfort. "You had no other choice to survive. and that's okay." you comfort the man in front of you. "And by the way, I thought about you too. a lot. an embarrassing amount. But I wanted you to grow, even if that meant leaving me to do so." you say. Theodore is speechless, he feels like the same teenager he was all those years ago, scared to say anything. so he didn't, he pulled himself forward to place a gentle kiss on your lips.

Part 2 of my DCST Time Travel Snippets
"Lemme get this straight. To stop this impending doom, you want us to build a spaceship that will take a small crew just past the Moon. Where they will then negotiate with parasitic alien robots and convince them that humanity is stupid and not worth being frozen into stone." Markus, one of the oldest scientists at NASA, surmised. He sounded incredibly tired.
Everything the people from the future told them was tiring.
"Pretty much." Dr Xeno from the future said, "It's a big ask, I realize. And a lot of lives depend on it."
"Who would we trust with such a mission, though?" Another NASA scientist asked, "There's a lot of factors to take into account. Personality, and training, and there's not enough time to conduct proper astronaut qualification exams for the wider public."
"Good point." Dr Xeno allowed.
"Ah, how about you get your version of the Five Wise Generals to go?" Brody, the future's top mechanic laughed, "They'll all be little babies now, so we'll knock off a couple hundred kilograms from the weight limit."
"I don't think we can have infants piloting a rocket and saving humanity." One of their current day scientists sighed. It was weird to think that a group of people called the Five Wise Generals were currently babies.
"No, no, you misunderstand. They should be fifteen at the youngest. Twenty four at the oldest." Xeno clarified, "And one of them won't exist until thirty seven hundred years, so right now, it's more like the Four Wise Generals. But I agree with Dr. Brody, except for my Stan, there's no one I'd recommend more. Byakuya Ishigami's an option, but I also don't trust him enough to not launch into a passionate speech about all the good humanity has done."
Byakuya Ishigami. He was a newbie astronaut, just inducted into the program. Normally, such love for humankind was admirable but...
"Brief us on these Generals." He decided. Just to have that option.
----
First was Senku Ishigami, the man who had made the first phonecall to the past. The son of Byakuya Ishigami. So far, they had avoided looking up the kid in the modern world.
Currently, he was fifteen years old, and a high school student. With a criminal record of setting off bombs in public parks.
"Oh, yeah. He likes making rockets." Xeno from current day confirmed blandly, "I had no idea he was setting them off in parks."
He was definitely lying.
"But you'll let me go to space without me having to build my own rocket, right?" A high-pitched voice asked. A boy with the wildest hair was suddenly standing in the control room.
"How'd you get in here?!"
"Xeno and my dad kept me updated on the situation here." He picked at his ear, "I couldn't care a millimeter less about the situation here now that we've figured out the secret behind the stone swallows. I just want to go to space. As soon as possible."
He vibrated slightly as he spoke, clearly excited, but hiding it well.
---
Second on the list, Asagiri Gen.
Nineteen years old, and a... moderately famous stage magician.
"Doesn't look like he has the muscle for a space trip."
"What good's a mentalist? We can drill anyone into saying things."
And so, Asagiri Gen was overlooked.
Somewhere in the world, a magician with two-toned hair was very offended.
---
Next was Ryusui Nanami, one of the Nanami Conglomerate's CEO's brood. A bit of a disgraced one, because of a dramatic love affair, but given the same allowance that any of the others got.
At 20 years of age, he had the biggest and most diverse collection of sailboats in the world. The kid was a dedicated adventurer, with all the health that came from it.
They could use that.
"Ryusui Nanami." An escort of suited officials approached him on a beach.
He looked up over the frame of his sunglasses, taking them in. He grinned, "Aw, man, they're really going to assassinate me this time, huh?"
"No, we're from NASA. How would you like to visit the final frontier?"
He snapped his fingers, laughing, "Name your price!"
-----
And lastly...
"Saionji Ukyo, you've been transferred last minute."
"Eh???" He looked at his CO in confusion.
"It's a matter of international security."
Did they think he'd overheard something? Oh God, he'd known his crazy hearing would get him killed one day.
"You'll be working with an American strike team. Full debriefing back at the base. For now, prepare yourself to meet Commander Stanley Snyder."
What was going on???
[put together an avengers intiative recruitment scene lol. i love gen i swear, they just dont understand him yettt TTATT]

The next morning, JJ is the first one in the station with Penelope on the phone. She didn't get much sleep last night much like the rest of the team. Her room is right next to Spencer's, and she heard him crying most of the night. She feels so bad for him. She wishes there was something she could do to either help you or make Spencer feel better. Her hands are tied, and she doesn't know how to get them untied. She has a coffee in her hand that she sips on as she talks to Penelope.
"I know it's a long shot, but Monica's parents said that she was heading west. Maybe she made it part of the way when she was kidnapped. Try running her DNA against adoption records in the surrounding states."
"I think you're brilliant! Hey, JJ, if we find this little girl, what's gonna happen to her?"
"If something illegal transpires during the adoption process, the court nullifies it, and the child gets returned to the closest blood relative. If it helps, I have met with the grandparents. They're wonderful people."
"Oh, I'm sure they are," Penelope sighs. "It's just... I don't know... I lost my parents. Granted, I was older than she was, but what got me through were the people closest to me. If Monica's daughter is with a good family, and we take her away from them..."
"Are we doing more harm than good?" JJ finishes for her with a sigh.
"Yeah."
"Garcia, I don't think we have a choice. These people have a right to their granddaughter."
"You're right. This just sucks."
Derek walks into the station, also on the phone. Hotch, Spencer, Emily, and Rossi follow right behind him.
"Yes, right away, please. Thank you." He hangs up and looks at the team. "That was CPS. I asked them to send over infant mortality files. It's another group for us to eliminate."
"Good," Hotch nods. He has a piece of paper in his hands with red markings all over it like annotations. Hotch brings Derek to an empty office to speak to him privately. "This is your profile. I disagree with your analysis."
"Hotch, are you serious? It's not a law review article, it's just something for us to brainstorm."
"You only focused on one angle, Morgan. That the prenatal drugs indicate the presence of a wife or a girlfriend. We need more options."
"Which I can give you once we make the proper deductions. Hotch, you're asking me to guess."
"Morgan, in order for the profile to be useful, it has to generate multiple scenarios about what the unsub is doing. Rewrite it," Hotch orders and hands the paper over to him.
Derek can't believe this but takes the paper without another word. JJ knocks on the door and pops her head in.
"We got Monica's daughter. She was adopted four years ago. Her name is Lisa."
"How did Garcia find her? She cross-referenced the entire New Mexico system."
"She isn't in New Mexico. She's in Arizona."
This opens up all new avenues. Hotch and Derek leave the office and join the others in the main room to discuss the case more.
"So, all the mothers were abducted and dumped in New Mexico, but he keeps the babies in Arizona. He knows the police with stop looking at the state line."
"The adoption agency's gonna be our best lead to the unsub. Who handled the case?" Hotch asks.
"That's bomb number two," JJ sighs. "She didn't go through an agency. She was dropped off anonymously at a church. Hospitals and churches are safe havens. You can drop a baby off, no questions asked."
"Child Protection Services would look for the closest relative."
"Another search that ends at the state line," Spencer says. "If CPS doesn't find one, the baby will go into foster care, which is what happened to Lisa. She was lucky. The adoption process happened within a month."
It makes him think of your parent's foster business and how children are getting adopted in weeks. It can happen, but not at the rate their children are. Thinking about your parents brings him back to you, and he grows sad once again.
"So, this unsub had the opportunity to make money off this infant. When he doesn't, he drops it off at a church because he knows the state will take good care of the child."
"That's awfully considerate," Emily scoffs.
"Outside the murder, nothing about this unsub's behavior profiles like a sexual sadist... As I wrote," Derek says and looks at Hotch.
"Yeah, Morgan's right. It's the actions of a caretaker or a mother. Could our unsub be a woman?" JJ wonders.
"Only a man would torture his victims this much. Men get off on this kind of violence. Women don't. He could be married, though, with his wife being a passive participant and taking care of the moms and babies."
"Alright, we need to split up. We'll give the profile to the Arizona and the New Mexico state police. Rossi, Reid, and Prentiss, I want you to head to Phoenix. Morgan, you're here with me. We'll finalize the profile."
Spencer gets up but his phone rings. He doesn't recognize the number but answers it anyway.
"Hello?"
"Hello, this a collect call from Virginia Correctional Center for Women for inmate Y/N. Press one if you'd like to accept the call."
"It's Y/N!" Spencer gasps and quickly presses the button. Everyone stops what they're doing to look at him. He holds his breath and waits to hear your voice. The call connects and he hears you breathing on the other line. "Y/N?"
"Spencer?" Your voice sounds so small, so distant that it breaks his heart. "Is that you?"
"I'm here. I'm right here. God, I miss you."
"I miss you, too," you sniffle. "How are you doing?"
"How are you doing? I wish I was there with you."
"I'm going to be fine, Spencer. I'm okay here."
"I love you so much. Please hold onto that."
You lean your head against the wall and let the tears fall. You try to keep your voice neutral so he doesn't sense how fucking scared you are.
"I know you do. I love you, too. I know you're worried about me, but I need you to continue to work on the cases Hotch sends you. I want you to use that big brain of yours to help people who need it."
"You need it. Who is going to help you?"
"Baby, I have faith that I will get out soon. I didn't kill those men, and I believe I will get justice. I will be home soon and in your arms before you know it."
"We're in New Mexico right now. I am going to visit you as soon as we are back in Virginia."
"Okay," you whisper. One of the guards calls your name to get you back to where everyone else is. "I have to go now. I just wanted to hear your voice."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
When you hang up, Spencer looks at everyone with tears in his eyes.
"Kid," Derek sighs.
"She's scared, Morgan. I could tell by the sound of her voice. She's scared out of her mind, and we work for a company that has the resources to help her. Screw my job if it means I can get her out of prison. Hotch?"
"You need to get to Arizona. We'll talk about it after."
Spencer is so frustrated and emotional but he doesn't want to make it worse or cause a scene. He grabs his jacket and leaves the station with Emily and Rossi following behind him. When the three agents get to Arizona, they gather the Phoenix PD to give the profile just as Derek and Hotch give it to the NMPD.
"The unsubs that we are looking for are a couple. Now, the man in the relationship most likely has a history of sexual violence. He started with stalking and then moved his way up to assault and rape. That violent streak ended temporarily when he found his wife. For the first years of their marriage, she submitted to his torture."
"Look for wives who came into the ER repeatedly with obvious signs of spousal abuse. You're gonna have to go back about five years because, around the time of the first abduction, the visits stopped. Sexual sadists can't find satisfaction from a willing participant," Emily explains.
"He eventually got to a place where he couldn't escalate his violence against her without killing her, so she made him a deal. He gets to kidnap, rape, and kill each of the runaways while she gets to keep the children. She's been giving the victims a series of prescription prenatal drugs, so you're gonna want to look at the obstetric fields such as nurses and OBs."
"The wife needs these children. At first, they were the lifeline that kept her alive. As long as he had other targets for his abuse, she avoided his rage," Rossi says.
"So, if these children protect her from abuse, why is she putting them up for adoption?" an officer asks.
"We believe the unsubs want children who resemble them physically, who no one would question as their own. All of the runaways have been blond which means the unsub may be as well, but the first child we found in the system was a brunette."
"Whatever the physical characteristic--the color of the eyes or the skin type--if the baby doesn't have it, he or she ends up in the foster care system," Rossi adds to Emily's point. "Wives of sexual sadists need outlets as a denial mechanism to cope with what their partners are doing."
"Motherhood, especially taking care of a helpless infant, is this woman's way of coping," Spencer says, his mind drifting back to your parents.
When the profile is done, JJ walks off to the side when she gets a message on her phone. Monica's grandparents are here and they are looking for answers. She walks outside to greet them, and they look at her with hopeful eyes.
"Have you found her?"
"Yes."
"How is she?"
"She's great. She was adopted by a young couple. No reports of physical or emotional trauma."
"When can we take her?" Conrad asks.
"Right now, we're in touch with her adoptive parents' lawyer, but the law is on your side."
"Can we talk to the parents? We could discuss this with them," Jane asks.
"They don't want to initiate contact. They've been through a lot right now."
A look of realization comes across Jane's face. Her smile falters and falls at the thought of taking her grandchild away from the only family she's ever known.
"They're her parents. Of course, they don't want to give her up."
"If she wants to see them, we can work that out. We're her family."
"What are the risks here? If we claim her, are we hurting her?" Jane asks JJ.
"It's impossible to tell. Some kids do great. Others have trouble."
"Why are we talking about risks? She's Monica's daughter," Conrad argues. "She's not their blood."
"Stop it," Jane hisses. "Thank you, Agent Jareau, but my husband and I need to discuss this."
Jane and Conrad leave the police station in quiet arguments, and JJ walks back inside the police station. She texts Spencer to ask how he's doing but he doesn't respond. He's been working hard to distract himself from thinking about you. He's working on the geographical profile when Rossi joins him. There is a map on the bulletin board with red and blue markings on it.
"What's this?"
"It's the pattern I've been looking for. The unsubs hid their tracks with the mothers, but they weren't so careful with the abandoned babies."
"Did you find more children?"
"DNA-wise, no but deductively, yes. I gathered all the records for all infants who entered foster care in a two-week window following each mother's death. Then, I narrowed it down to babies that were abandoned at churches. This is where the guesswork begins. Monica's daughter was abandoned at a Presbyterian Church. Let's assume the unsub, or the wife at least, is Presbyterian. That means all other unwanted children are gonna be left in the same denomination, right? That narrows it down to three babies left at three different Presbyterian Churches all within this twenty-mile radius. This is where they live."
Spencer points out the circle he's drawn on the map. Rossi grabs the files of the three kids and looks through them all.
"Have you looked at their files?"
"No. Right now, I've only been tracking churches. Why?"
"Because you just uncovered another pattern. These are all girls." Rossi calls Hotch immediately. "You guys need to come to Arizona. We found another pattern."
"Yeah, we're packing up now. We can be in Phoenix in two hours. What pattern did you find?"
"Reid found more children put into foster care. Lisa, Elizabeth, and Amanda. We profiled there'd be a type they'd keep and a type they'd put into foster care. They're keeping the boys."
"We'll be there soon."

I’m taking a leave for sometime…
I hope you all are now already aware of the recent news of NCT...
I have no words to say anymore. I don't know how to feel and follow NCT after this. I'm excluding his name from all my NCT/ Ateez fics, I feel sorry for all the fans who were TAEIL Stans...Ik you all are heart broken. I feel so disgusted and disappointed in him after reading all the articles and comments about him. Not in my wildest dream I have ever imagined, he would be the one involved in all these extreme crimes. But, I want to say other members should be investigated as well, I know they might not be aware of this or maybe they were.....but I need a final proper outcome.
NCT 127 was on the track with WALK ERA and we were getting on the right way with them.
Jaehyun debuted with his solo, Yuta's solo was lined up but this destroyed everything.
Jaehyun's movie is cancelled. Wayv was getting the proper recognition, Dreamies were doing so fine THE BEST but he had to ruin everything.
We are square to one once again and this time it won't be the same.
NCT will now be searched in the records of criminals and the list of crimes are so disgusting. The comfort zone, my favorite part of life is now being totally in shambles.
I'm taking leave for a while so please stay safe you all and atleast try to avoid any situation to happen with you. I know it's tough but try to not trust anyone blindly. I don't know when I will return back to writing again but for some time, I won't be available here but will answer your messages inbox and dm. If you want, you guys can talk to me on insta, I have shared my id before, I will hear you all anytime. Also, trust and believing an idol is completely different.
We can't prevent ourselves to believe in someone's love and belief in goodness. But we can control our blind trust, always refrain to get involved with someone too deeply.
It's easier to say than to be done. But atleast we can atleast try.

Oh c’mon you knew I had to.
My version of the Barbie mugshot with stricklake because I just COULD NOT get it out of my head:
This is specifically from my Trollhunter!Strickler au solely because of the white streak in Barbara’s hair lol and now that I’ve drawn it I am oh so tempted to have it be an actual scene that happens somewhere along the story…
Little snippet of the would-be scene (it's so long it got away from me, I'm sorry):
*the two are rummaging around in a very much broken into museum to find what may or not be a message from Nomura*
Barbara: Walt...?
Walter: Hm? Yes, love?
Barbara: What's that outside?
Walter, pausing for a second to listen: Oh. That would be the em...the police, my dear.
Barbara: Oh, okay, okay, excuse me, the WHAT.
Walter: ...Em. That is, I- um I suggest you hide the skathe-hrün somewhere, lest the authorities care to investigate further into what exactly it is when they take it from your person.
Barbara: So we're not even avoiding this? You know, getting arrested by the police?
Walter: Mmmm, no, unfortunately. I don't want you using the skathe-hrün (or more specifically its magic) anymore than absolutely necessary for today. You've expended yourself enough as it is.
Barbara: And getting arrested for breaking and entering is not an 'absolute necessity'???
Walter: Not particularly, it would only be a considered a second-degree burglary since it is a museum and not a residential, habitated building; which that sub-type of burglary is a 'wobbler' charge in the state of California, which equates—if it is persecuted as a misdemanor rather than a felony—to merely (at most) a year in county jail—
Barbara: A year?!
Walter: —and 1,000 dollar fine if, that is, we are found guilty by being proven to have harbored the intent to steal something, of which we did not and do not have evident by the fact neither of us pocess any given tools to break or take any item from its case. I assume this is the first time you have been accused of any given crime aside from speeding or any other driving-related violation? Without evidence of a previous criminal record we should be lined up quite well to be merely fined or, if NotEnrique can manage it (if I can bear to call upon endless embarassment and taunting), nothing at all but a slap on the wrist though I doubt we could not accomplish that on our own given our positions in the community as school teacher and doctor respectively.
Barbara: You have wings, Walt.
Walter: And mothman escaping a building with a strangely human-shaped figure in its arms is not at all a cause for alarm to the police who will no doubt be keeping close watch of all exits and entrances which would also draw unneeded attention before we can reach the proper cover of the clouds.
Barbara: *face-palms* Getting arrested. How wonderful. 'Oh, just breaking and entering, officer, not much.'
Walter: It is hardly as terrible as it sounds, really. We can omit the 'breaking' portion since we snuck in through the window without running into any trouble that would damage it. Frankly, we could go the route of claiming guilty to the crime of trespassing according to the Penal Code 602 (California's trespassing law) being that we entered the exhibit past museum hours. On top of which it is far more accurate to what we're doing in actuality, not proper burglary since we have established neither of us had the intent to run off with anything that was not ours. Doing so we would also fare far better than with a so-called 'breaking and entering' offense (such a named law does not actually exist in California, only burglary and trespassing separately but I will clasify it as the burglary law for sake of consistency) in which we would be recieving just a simple fine rather than possible felony charges that could come with a second-degree burglary we may have committed.
Barbara: Not really helping here, Walt.
Walter: Right, apologies-
Barbara: Which, of course, getting arrested is an experience you obviously know about.
Walter: The (pun intended) offense aimed against me is dully noted. However, my dear, the fact I know how the intricacies of the specific laws of California operate does not entail I have been arrested prior to this. That would be Nomura who holds the experience in that particular department.
*pause*
Barbara: Walt. Don't you dare. You stop it right there. Unless you want--
Walt: The police department. Heh. *guilty snort*
Barbara: *sends him the disappointed death glare*
Police: *break through the door* Hands up! On the ground, now!
Walter: *laying down* I hardly find my pun to have been that egregious.

Barbara, being stood up with her arms behind her back: Officers, I have no idea who this man is.
Walter: I never once said I intended to make good puns.
I made this entirely too long but once it started I couldn't really find myself stopping. Whoops. Hope you enjoyed chaotic Walt not caring about being arrested because jail is honestly the least of his problems rn. It would honestly be a break.

I'm really glad that Suletta and Miorine got their unambiguously happy ending. I get its significance as it portrayed a queer female couple with one of them a PWD WOC, both living a full, happy life especially after all that they've been through. I can see it has touched many people and that's good. And considering this was done in a big IP such as the Gundam franchise, it is a win.
That said, it really is appalling for me how war crimes and human experimentation go unpunished (with the exception of Shaddiq and Nika) in this series. Yes, Delling (and Sarius) are facing trials for Quinharbor and the Space Assembly League wipeout and Miorine is talking to the family of the victims of Gundam. But. The old hags of Peil Technologies don't exactly pay for experimenting on humans and vaporizing them when they have outlived their usefulness. Delling instigated the massacre at Folkvangr and Kennanji played a part in wiping out Elnora's family, comrades, friends, and mentor but they don't get to reckon that. There is no reckoning, no proper apology, no comeuppance. And considering Japan's shoddy history with apologies for its own war crimes and their honestly infuriating insistence that reparations = apology, especially when it comes to the issue of "comfort women"--not to mention their shrines dedicated to war criminals and their own record of human experimentation--G Witch's take on accountability is both unsurprising and yet still so disappointing. And before anyone goes off that this is just anime, media informs and is informed by society. Just as we can argue the significance of the happy ending of Suletta and Miorine, so too G Witch's treatment of accountability for perpetrators of massacre and human experimentation.
#G witch#Witch from mercury#gundam witch from mercury#gundam the witch from mercury#G-witch#Sulemio#That line that Elnora/Prospera chose the future over revenge is honestly puzzling to me because#didn't she unleash Aerial's power on Quinharbor to also avenge herself on Ochs Earth for perverting the ideals of GUND?#Also even Sabina said it that the steps Miorine took could easily be undone#I think the series could have been really good if only it had more courage and commitment to morality and ethics#Rather than playing it safe#It honestly all played out like a perpetrator's fantasy of forgiveness

Don't mind me, thinking about "voluntarily" acquisitions.
Content: BBU setting, blackmail, threat of deportation, abuse of office, implied dubcon.
The man sitting across from her in the tiny interrogation room frowns at her, a look filled with grave seriosity. It's ridiculous. The only reason that Morva doesn't break into laughter is that she's a better actor than him. She is, in fact, fantastic.
It's not her skill who has brought them here; it's fucking Eddie's failure. It's not the first time she needs to get out of somebody else's mess. Morva will manage. She always does.
And step one is, do not laugh in the face of a small officer in a too large suit, who pretends to give a shit.
"I've looked into your files, Ms Gholamali. It doesn't look good."
She raises an eyebrow, a hint of amusement that she doesn't feel. He's not supposed to know that name. "I am sorry," she says. "There must be a mix up. My name is Mary Ann Ellis. I'm American."
"No, you're not." There's a smugness in his smile, and this time, he's dropped the act.
Well. Fuck.
"Morvarid Gholamali. It was your birthday yesterday. 20 years old. Quite the impressive criminal record, given how short you've been in the US. Illegally."
She doesn't flinch. Just tiredly rolls her eyes and lifts her cuffed hands. "Sir," she says with a bored voice. "That's ridiculous. I'm from Maine. I don't even know how to pronounce that name you just said. Where is it even from?"
"Iran." The man gives a thin lipped smile. "You'll hear the proper pronounciation of that name soon enough. Regardless of what you say, paperwork is being processed right now. You'll be deported."
"I don't-"
"Ms Gholamali", he interrupts her.
"Ms Ellis," she corrects automatically. His Persian proununciation is a nightmare. Still, she'll prefer hearing it from him than from an Iranian border officer. Fuck. This is taking a turn she does not appreciate.
The man goes on, unimpressed. "You're a criminal. A plain boring little thief. I bet you call yourself con artist, somewhere in your head, because you fucked your victims before robbing them, but you're not special in any way. You're a criminal, you're an illegal immigrant, and we don't want you here."
Behind her fake, confused smile, Morva grits her teeth. That asshole didn't talk about the fucking part by chance, she's sure of it. Her toolbox is a lot larger than that. If he mentions sex, he wants to get somewhere with it.
Fine. She's fucked men for way less than her own fucking chance at freedom.
"I'm American," she insists, still. "You can't deport me."
"You know.... An American would have other options," he says slowly. Almost thoughtful. Almost like he didn't plan this thing from the fucking start. "Do you know WRU?"
This does catch her off guard. "WRU? The... The pet distributors?"
"They have a program for people facing jail time to sign up, as part of their sentence." The man smiles. She hates that for a second, she doesn't even want to punch him. She wants to hear him out. He nods. "They could stay here, be reeducated, do a service to society again, in a way. Get assigned an owner, live with them, be-"
"Be a pet."
"Be in America."
She swallows, as he holds her gaze and goes on talking.
"So... Hypothetically. If I were to believe you, disregard all the talk about Ms Gholamali - would the American national Ms Mary Ann Ellis take this option?"
Her mind is racing. It can't be that bad now, can it?
She's been acting all her life, she's degraded herself so often to play a role, seduced men to get into their homes and wallets. She could become a pet, sure. She'd find a way to get out of it on the other side. She could, here. She couldn't, back home.
"Ms Ellis would certainly consider it," Morva says softly, looking down at her handcuffs and back at him through her lashes. "If only you were to believe her identity."
He smirks and raises an eyebrow, gaze wandering down her body slowly. "Interesting."
It's almost a relief. This is something she understands. A game she's played hundreds of times. Never as desperate. But always successful.
She can do this.
"Is... Is there something I could do to convince you?" She bites her lip. "Sir?"
"You know what?" He chuckles and leans in, loosens his tie with his free hand. "I think there is."

i think the thing that's frustrating me the most is that, as a true crime enthusiast, i can't help but get caught up in the investigation. and it's impossibly hard to get clear answers about the investigation because all these fucking tabloids are flooding the internet with useless articles that do nothing but put liam's life and past on blast.
like, i don't give a fuck about his ex girlfriends. i don't give a fuck about the issues he was facing. i don't, at this point, give a fuck about the abuse allegations. the man is dead, alright. pulling his life apart and dissecting everything he did or didn't do isn't going to change anything. stop trying to put the man through the ringer, it doesn't fucking matter! what matters is what happened to him. let the fucking reputable news sources do their thing and shut the fuck up.
at the end of the day, the problems here are not what liam did, or what he was facing, or how he was handling it. there are a lot of things that happened leading up to his death that had to do with, not him, but the people around him and the hotel staff that we should be questioning. what happened to liam was a tragedy but it was also a preventable tragedy, not just years in the making but within the hours of it happening.
i have been trying to keep up with it because it is actually mind boggling the things that have come to light about the situation. like the fact that he was clearly in distress for hours before his death. the fact that staff was constantly taking him back up to his room and then not following up. the fact that witnesses have said he fell down and was convulsing in the hotel lobby and staff didn't call 911 until after they had taken him back up to his room. the medical examiner has said that there is a high chance that he was either unconscious or semi unconscious at the time of his fall (due to the way his body was positioned, suggesting he didn't make any attempt to brace himself during the fall), which could suggest a medical emergency happened to him that caused his fall. police raided the hotel and took computer hard drives and camera recordings not two days ago!
from where i'm standing, i feel like there could be a case for criminal negligence. i feel like hotel staff should be held responsible for what happened to him. i feel like there wasn't proper steps taken to protect him or other hotel guests during these instances and it's crazy to me that there's not more of an uproar about it.
except, oh yeah, tmz is too busy posting photos of his dead body and talking about his past love life to actually offer anything of use to the conversation.
#and in case anyone thinks#i'm pulling this information#out of my ass#i've read articles from both#the associated press and the new york times#that touches on this situation#additionally#the information about what drugs were in liam's system#is from a pre-lim toxicology not the final results#so just keep that one in mind#as well#regarding the information about his possible convulsing#metro uk and itv news both posted tiktoks#of the interview with the witness#if you wanted to know that as well#liam payne#one direction#it's all just so frustrating#admitted i might delete this later#tw#trigger warning#death#dying#mental health#substance abuse#alcoholism#abuse allegations

Ok so bc anything i do in this fandon is specifically to piss that woman off, i gotta ask:
Do you have any ideas for fic scenarios for trans!albus and/or trans!Harry? (time travel harrydore or not, you pick)
so funny story anon, my instinctual answer for this question was "no, I've never thought about it, sorry"—but as I was writing that reply a while back, I actually started getting ideas. It was wild. (That's also why this took so long to get out, sorry!)
trans!Albus is easier for me to imagine for some reason. I had this idea where his entire early life could be rewritten just to do a deep dive into the Dumbledore family dynamics when the firstborn prodigy half-blood son is AFAB instead. How that might change Percival's actions on Ariana's behalf (or not), if he doesn't have any thoughts in the back of his mind about leaving his family in his "eldest son's" hands. How that could change the rivalry between Albus and Aberforth, who might not be super tolerant of an uppity older sister who's also queer. We still don't know much about Kendra somehow, after 1 billion years of Pottermore, but whether or not she's accepting of Albus' gender identity and sexuality could be their own spin-off fanfics, they're that fascinating. Her own Native history could then be touched on as well.
All these things together could be a point of personal conflict for Albus, who's already a living embodiment of a taboo Native/European union and might have to wrestle with what's accepted from him as a Good and Proper Woman of English society re: marriage and carrying on some (other) pureblood's line, along with protecting Ariana's secret and "making up" for his father's crimes.
I don't know if Albus' sexuality changes. If it doesn't, I can see him being briefly confused about What Elphias Is To Him when he gets older, and Elphias is getting his own messages from home about How Much Time He's Spending With That Dumbledore Girl. I imagine there would be a lot of conversations between Albus and Kendra, and Albus and other peers, about who he was going to marry and what his "prospects" were since his father's a known criminal. And Albus, beyond not identifying as a girl at all, would find all this discussion about such trivial sexist matters frustrating as hell.
Unfortunately, I see everyone at Hogwarts misgendering Albus while he's a student, or pretty much everyone. Like, he eventually tells Elphias who accepts right away (and is confused about What That Means for Him in private), and maybe a few other students, but none of his professors are Getting It. His stellar academic record probably keeps him from being bullied as much, but doesn't entirely protect him from rampant transmisogyny and slurs when he outperforms people.
But regardless, assuming the "major beats" of history play out the same way, I can see Albus being a lot more proactive re: marginalized rights than he already was in canon, and perhaps moving the overall British Society Needle way further to the left, because it's one thing to talk shit about the powerful, progressive, weird old man that no one really knows is gay but can kick your arse without breathing hard, but another thing entirely to talk shit about your trans, out and proud, progressive Supreme Mugwump who has already freed all the elves, speaks all the magical creature/Being languages, is raising your kids at school better than you are at home, AND is still gay and can still kick your arse without breathing hard.
This is all, of course, imagining that Albus is AFAB and identifies as male. If it's the other way around and Albus is AMAB and identifies as female... I can't even imagine. I'm not cool enough ig
As for Harry, it's weird but I don't have any trans headcanons for him during his Hogwarts years. It's kind of similar to how I don't read many genderbent!Harry fics unless I adore the author, because even though I'm a girl I can't imagine Harry IDing as one for some reason. (I'm very limited, I know.) BUT. For some reason this changes when you bring in time travel harrydore.
With the ship as the parameter, I can imagine an AFAB Harry who's spent his whole life chafing at the clothes Aunt Petunia gets him—because 'unfortunately' (for her), even pre-puberty, she can't just give Harry Dudley's cast-offs unless she wants The Neighbors to start lifting eyebrows and asking questions—because they're girl clothes and along with just not fitting in to the Pristine Pretentious Family with her messy hair and tight clothes and taped-up glasses, Harry has never felt like a girl. He insisted on having people call him 'Harry' as soon as he could talk and get away with it, and only has to hear his deadname from his teachers and with the Dursleys.
This all of course changes once McGonagall is reading names on the Sorting List in 1991 and just barely doesn't stumble over Harry's preferred name being on the list instead. (She is surprised only because Harry is famous. By the time Harry goes to school, there have been many other out trans students in this headcanon. But probably very few under her eye have been quite this famous.)
I've always personally headcanoned Harry as bisexual, but I don't know if that would be the case in this particular headcanon. I can still see him going after Cho, and perhaps even Ginny. I can see him having the same confusion about What Are Ron and I To Each Other that a trans!Albus had about Elphias a century ago, without ever living his Hogwarts life as a girl to anyone but his enemies (and having a lot of friction with canon!Hermione and/or Lavender as a result). I can see Draco hating Harry even more, because he always kept "her" in the back of his mind as a Dark Lady he could serve under in all ways, only to have this... boy being his rival and Quidditch better and wanting absolutely nothing to do with the Malfoys or purebloods or knowing her place.
A thought that sticks in the back of my mind is that JKR (otherwise known by me as That Woman (derogatory)) specifically wrote Harry as a boy for a lot of reasons, and the main one being that she always planned for him to live and pass on his line in the "traditional" way, and having her titular character be a girlboss would've derailed that status quo. In a universe where Harry is AFAB, I can imagine a lot of related conversations with and around Harry about this. How "she" is "the last Potter" that there will ever be, because naturally she'll marry into one of the families and the name will be lost forever. I can see this being a real bone of contention with Harry and radicalizing him, along with Voldemort and the discrimination against werewolves and house-elves and centaurs and veela (which I doubt even one dedicated Dumbledore would be able to get rid of), making him take his place as the next generation leftist magical powerhouse.
And so how does all that change his relationship with Dumbledore? I... don't really see it changing much. If both characters are trans, that's another point of connection for them that bonds them through all the mess the government and society puts them through. It makes Albus a figure for Harry to admire as a young boy ("look, the most powerful wizard in the world is just like me!") and to still anguish about as a young man ("all the choices he made that I don't agree with, all the secrets he kept from me, how do I know I won't make the same mistakes or make no better progress than he did?"). Their relationship could be all the more painful or distant if one of them is out and one is in the closet, like an Albus who never came out or transitioned and is seeing in Harry the upright boy he could have been, or if Harry is resentful of Albus living his truth because he, a knobbly-kneed adolescent girl, doesn't have the power, freedom, or influence to be who he truly wants to be.
But focus! I'm focusing! Time travel Harrydore. The specific scenario I was imagining was one where AFAB Harry never comes out to the general public. His loved ones who are his peers know, but all the adults in his life (yes, including Remus and Sirius) never get to meet him properly. They die thinking of him as "James' daughter". And after defeating Voldemort, Harry just can't take the idea of spending any more time not being the person he wants to be. He's done being the Girl-Who-Lived so he writes goodbye letters to Ron and Hermione and does some ancient ritual without anyone knowing, and instead of changing him at the molecular level it flings him back to the past.
And so unlike a lot of time travel fics (including mine lol) where Harry is grieving his true time and desperate to get back home, this Harry misses his friends terribly, but it doesn't take long for him to see being an unknown in a different time as a golden opportunity. Sure, it would have been better if he'd been flung into the future instead and maybe had more tolerant people instead of less, but no one knows who he's "supposed" to be here. So he can grow into the man he truly is!
And so while Harry is setting up his new life for himself (maybe as some personal tutor, or a backup Quidditch player, or something that keeps him out of the limelight for once?), he runs into trans!Albus who doesn't have many friends and not much else going on for him (depending on who or where Grindelwald is right then), and Harry's nervous but they hit it off and become close friends, and one thing leads to another, and...
*cackles*
Also also, and sorry for sticking this all the way at the end lol, but MUCH RESPECT for hanging around in HPF just to stick in the craw of That Woman. I think I'm adopting your philosophy for the future. ^^
#thanks for the ask!#headcanons#fireandgold#fireandgoldposts#trans!Albus Dumbledore#trans!Harry Potter#Albus Dumbledore#Harry Potter#there's a lot of misgendering in this ask for the purposes of the headcanon imagine so I'm sorry about that#I tried to use Albus and Harry's preferred pronouns as much as possible

TW: Violence, Homicide, Sexual Assault, Child Abuse
As a Criminologist, the one thing I don't see talked about a lot, or that people misunderstand when talking about queer crime stats, is the concept of the "dark figure of crime", also known as latent criminality.
The concept itself is very simple - the "dark figure" is a term used to refer to crime stats with methodology flaws due to the nature of the crime itself. Basically, under-reported crimes where the actual number of occurences is a lot higher than what's reported. Common examples of these are things such as rape, drug use, illegal gambling and child abuse.
The reasons why these are often under-reported is because of shame, lack of trust in the judicial system, or lack of reliable ways to collect data on these crimes (you can't just go to every home and ask if they beat their kids).
This brings me to my main point - trans crime stats.
Many people cite how "X trans women were killed this year" or "X trans men were assaulted this year", but what they don't realize is that these stats are often unreliable. In fact, the numbers are often a lot higher than what's being reported. If a trans man is killed by his Grindr hookup, or if a trans woman is sexually assaulted by a chaser she met on Tinder, these stats aren't going to be reported due to:
Dead people don't report their own murders
Queer victims are often ignored (See: Bruce McArthur and Dahmer) by police investigations
Unreliability of SRS (Self Report Surveys)
Not to mention the issues with trying to collect data on murders, due to the police often refusing to use trans people's chosen names when it comes to death records, and instead opting for dead-names, which makes it hard to collect proper data for research.
Furthermore, the fact that only 46% of homicides of trans people have been solved, compared to 69% of all homicides, puts even more strain on attempting to collect quality data on this very topic.
Yes, there is a serious problem with trans victims of various crimes, but we must also acknowledge that the problem is actually much worse than what's being reported in the very, very, very, limited data on this very topic.
That needs to change, and it's something I've advocated for years, but has failed to gain much traction, save a few papers on the topic that get a few hundred citations at most, and often by other queer journals and authors.

RWBY AU: Team GLIN (Glint)
---------------------------------------------------
Name: Son Goku (Leader)
Race: Faunus (Monkey?)
Weapon: Power Pole, a combat staff that can extend on command
Semblance: Zenkai Boost, receives permanent physical boost after near-death recovery.
Son Goku has no records of his birth or place of residence. According to him, until the age of twelve, he was raised by his grandfather in "the mountains". When asked to identify which mountains, he replied "the mountains". As it is understood, Goku seemingly arrived at Beacon from out of nowhere with no background history to reference.
This, however, does not discourage Beacon from accepting his attendance. Goku has a distinct lack of knowledge in all areas beyond combat, in which he seems to show a great affinity for. Armed with his power pole, which he barely uses, Goku sees combat less as a struggle for survival and more as a test of one's abilities. He has even shown great interest in teaching other students, though it should be noted the cafeteria budget has suffered most from his appetite, rivaled only by his partner.
---------------------------------------------------
Name: Monkey D. Luffy
Race: Human
Weapon: N/A
Semblance: Gum-Gum, entire body is as elastic and expandable as rubber.
Luffy is the grandson of Atlesian officer, Monkey D. Garp, and was raised in the islands off the shores Menagerie proper. When asked of his parentage, Luffy responded he didn't know if he even had parents. Garp assured Luffy was trained properly enough to attend Beacon, though his academic scores were among the lowest Beacon has ever seen. Pairing this with his near idolization of noted criminals, faculty were concerned with Luffy's attendance as well.
Luffy, however, has proven to be an effective combatant against all manner of foes. Many Grimm were eliminated, including high level threats such as the Beringel were easily disposed of. When asked where he learned to fight, he explained his brothers helped him after he ate a weird fruit. When asked to elaborate, he refused until we served him "more meat".
---------------------------------------------------
Name: Kurosaki Ichigo
Race: Human
Weapon: Zangetsu, a buster sword that can be split into a smaller and larger dual blade, or compacted into a smaller katana
Semblance: Shinigami, allows user to see aura/souls, even when hidden from view
Born to a doctor, Ichigo lost his mother at a young age, which he claims was what unlocked his semblance. Since then, he has done his best to aid and provide for his father and two younger sisters in Vale. Due to his lack of attendance at a beginner school, Ichigo struggled for certifications while handling odd-jobs around his town.
Ichigo's combat skill is impressive, to say the least, and has shown great maturity for his age when compared to the other students. However, when pressed, he has been known to lose his cool and show just alike his peers he really is. When asked why he chose Beacon, he replied, "It was the closest one to home. To be honest, I don't really care which academy I go to. I'm not attending because I want to become a Huntsman, but because I have to."
---------------------------------------------------
Name: Uzumaki Naruto
Race: Faunus (Fox)
Weapon: Rasen-shuriken, throwable sphere that contains shuriken and explosives
Semblance: Ninjutsu, converts aura into skills and abilities
Naruto was raised in an orphanage and attended a beginner's school in Mistral, where he was ostracized for his faunus traits. In an effort of attention-seeking, he would lash out with pranks and graffiti, making a ruckus for his guardians at the orphanage. When asked why he defaced the monument dedicated to the brave huntsmen and huntresses of Mistral, he replied, "They're all chumps compared to me! Just you wait, I'm gonna be the greatest huntsman anyone's every seen! Believe it!"
Despite his cocky and overbearing attitude, Naruto is profoundly skilled in stealth combat and the use of his semblance to overwhelm his opponents. While taking the exam, he stood proudly in class and told the professors to "shove it because a real huntsman can't be held back by paper!" Upon retrieving his exam, Professor Port admired his ability to speak so confidently when his exam page was blank.

i feel like i see the thing relatively often where someone will say that ed's not actually that mentally ill, fans are just racist and also somehow this is izzy's fault because the only time he shows symptoms of mental illness is through izzy supposedly. even though in episode four alone we see him talk about suicide ideation, how discontent he is in life, and how burnt out he is.
but when people urge others to add an antiracist lens to their analysis and point out the historical racism within the psychiatric system it seems like?? they think that the only explanation is for ed to just be a lil depressed and that poc who are otherwise perfectly fine are constantly being slapped with extreme diagnoses. which, that is a thing that happens btw. people will call the cops on and forcefully institutionalize black folks who they have disagreements with and weaponize psychiatry against them.
that said, when talking about something like the uneven diagnosis distribution between poc and white people of schizophrenia (since that's something that's been researched) it's not that doctors are talking people who are otherwise perfectly mentally healthy and attributing their behavior to mental illness (although again it does happen.) usually though what people are referring to is how doctors are quick to diagnose poc with schizophrenia before doing their proper diligence and going over the other possibilities including histories of depression, trauma, and abuse. certain traits they exhibit are overemphasized and others minimized or ignored. a black person and white person may show the same exact symptoms, but the doctor will first have the white person tested for PTSD or BPD and try alternative treatment plans, while marking the black person off before considering other possibilities.
it's dangerous and disturbing where poc will be put through a series of medications that do not help, receive no treatment for the actual root of the problem, and then in the process often be criminalized as well since there is a much greater social stigma and forced state control over people diagnosed with schizophrenia.
i just feel like if you're gonna talk about ed and misdiagnosis through a racial lens, it'd be more accurate for him to immediately get diagnosed with something like schizophrenia without the doctor doing anything more to look into him. ignoring things like his history of child abuse and how trauma can cause certain responses. or for something he said metaphorically to be taken as literal where he might describe himself when angry as "the kraken" and the doctor marks that down as a sign of delusions. overemphasizing verbal expressions of angers as signs of violence. hearing ed say "it feels like my boss is out to get me" where he means that the boss keeps picking on him and it feels racially motivated, and the doctor puts on the record that he suffers from paranoia.
also just saying but there is actually a LOT out there you can read about māori mental health and the issues surrounding NZ's system. about 1 in 3 māori adults meet criteria for a mental disorder and this is a result of a racist health system, poverty, and, very importantly, colonialism. but like? i promise you don't need to create your own theories on how ed's identity interacts with mental health as if you're the first person to considered that. kaupapa māori mental health services are literal resources in place to address māori mental health needs within a cultural context. like! it's very cool actually for these things to be made available through hard community work that rejects colonialist psychiatric systems and instead utilizes a holistic and indigenous approach to wellness.
idk it's just so much more complicated than ignoring ed's very real mental illness and writing it off as no biggie. tbh it feels very um american centric as well to make assertions about relationships to mental health and race without ever acknowledging the specific community history here and that this isn't a new conversation. if you want to say you're examining ed through an anticolonialist framework then it would help if you did literally any work to find out what that looks like currently.

OMG Biden had classified documents!
Full disclosure. I think we should have better records of classified documents to ensure that nothing is accidentally or willfully retained by leaving administrations.
(Edit at the end to incorporate new developments.) That being said. Is this the same as Trump? Obviously Fox news, MAGAGA faithfuls, and Trump think so. What we know: Biden Attorneys found 10 Obama Administration classified documents in a locked file when they were sorting through files preparing to move out of an office. The office was a think tank Biden used during his time as Vice President. They immediately notified the national archives who regained possession of those documents the next day.
How many: The Biden team found 10 documents reportedly marked classified and immediately handed them over. The FBI recovered over 300 classified documents in Trump's case, many after Trump's legal team untruthfully informed them they had handed over all documents already.
Where: The 10 Biden classified documents recovered were in a now disused official office of the former Vice President. The more than 300 Trump classified documents were found at his personal residence.
Recovery: The 10 Biden classified documents were found by his legal team during a move out of the now disused office. They were immediately reported found and returned to the national archive. Comparatively the national archive and federal agencies were aware Trump had retained documents and repeatedly asked for their return. They were repeatedly told that all documents had been returned, incorrectly. Documents were then seized when the FBI executed a search warrant to recover the documents.
Retention: The Biden administration immediately reported and handed over found documents through proper channels without being asked. Trump team willfully retained the documents even after federal demands of their return.
Content: The 10 Biden classified documents did not contain nuclear secrets, though the exact contents are unreported. The 300+ Trump documents did include nuclear secrets, though the exact contents are unreported.
Classification: The media sucks ass at reporting classification levels so fucking bad. They straight up don't seem to understand the different levels of 'classified'. The 10 Biden classified documents have no reporting yet on what level of classification they are. The 300+ Trump classified documents have all levels. Sensitive, Secret, Top Secret, and, TS SCI, our highest compartmentalized classification that should not be outside of a controlled government facility.
Investigation: Both documents cases are under or have been under investigation by Trump appointed law officials.
So yes. Both cases do involve classified documents and are both under investigation. But there is a world of difference.
Note: Both of these investigations are still very much underway, and new developments may emerge.
EDIT TO ADD A NEW DEVELOPMENT: Upon finding the documents, the Biden legal team themselves launched an extensive search of all former Obama Administration documents in all locations to be sure there weren't any other misfiled classified documents, and they have found a few more, also handed immediately to the archives. There have been no indications of criminal intent, and therefore while a special counsel has been assembled to review it, the administration is not facing any legal charges at this time.

Dozens of women suspected of having illegal abortions have faced criminal investigations from the police in recent years, new figures show.
Information obtained under freedom of information (FOI) laws reveal at least 36 women endured criminal investigations after being accused of having illegal abortions from April 2014 to December 2021.
The data, obtained by National World and based on responses from 35 police forces, looked at recorded crimes for the two charges of procuring an illegal abortion and the intentional destruction of a viable unborn child.
It comes after Carla Foster, 44, was sentenced to 28 months in jail earlier in the month, having obtained drugs to end her pregnancy at 32 to 34 weeks during lockdown.
Dr Jonathon Lord, who represented medical organisations in the case, told The Independent the sentencing of the mother-of-three “brought back the horrors of the 1960s”.
The consultant NHS gynaecologist at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust added: “The really big fear is that we know the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) are sitting on lots more cases - waiting to see whether this one would be jailed and thereby prove a public interest in prosecuting.
“So we now expect anything between six to 40 proceeding - it is so hard to know numbers as it’s all so secretive. We don't know if these cases will be charged. Another issue is that patients are told to speak to nobody. So one woman had post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) for over six months before we heard she’d had a premature delivery that arose suspicion.”
Dr Lord explained the CPS evidence in the recent headline-grabbing case involving Foster included the fact she searched for ways to cause physical harm such as “Can being hit in the stomach cause a miscarriage?”, adding this demonstrates “she was so desperate she was even considering self-harm”.
Dr Lord noted she had been imprisoned under a law from 1861 - “an era when public hangings drew large crowds and 67 years before women were able to vote”.
The latest Home Office data show the number of Britons being investigated by police over suspected illegal abortions has more than tripled in the last decade.
Recorded crimes for abortions surged from eight in 2013/2014 to 27 cases in April to December 2022 so far.
This includes recorded crimes for three separate charges of procuring an illegal abortion, the intentional destruction of a viable unborn child and concealing an infant death pre-birth. While the first two charges are punishable by life imprisonment, the latter carries a three-year prison sentence.
Some of the cases included in the government data could relate to investigations into abusive partners forcing a woman into having an abortion, those who sell abortion pills, and individuals whose violence against a woman or person with a womb causes them to lose their pregnancy.
Earlier in the month, Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court heard Foster was between 32 to 34 weeks pregnant when she took the abortion pills – with Justice Pepperall saying she felt “very deep and genuine remorse”, was “racked with guilt” and still had nightmares over her actions.
Kate Osborne, a Labour MP who sits on the women and equalities committee, told The Independent the imprisonment of Foster was a “disgrace” and was “perverse” as she called for abortion care to be decriminalised.
“This case shows that the current legislation is unsafe for women and could potentially open the door for more prosecutions,” she added.
Labour MP Stella Creasy, an outspoken campaigner for abortion rights, noted “no other healthcare service sits on a criminal foundation” as warned “it’s time to treat all patients equally and introduce a proper medical framework to guide access rather than use the threat of prosecution to deter it.”
A spokesperson for the CPS said: “These exceptionally rare cases are complex and traumatic. Our prosecutors have a duty to ensure that laws set by parliament are properly considered and applied when making difficult charging decisions.”

Arc Plays: Persona 5 Strikers
we're back, baberinos
Hello, my name is Arcturus, you may call me Archie, so begins our fourth liveblog. For the liveblogs of Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden, and Persona 5 Royal, please see the pinned post.
I'm going into this knowing:
a. I have never played a Musuo game ever so that'll be interesting.
b. This takes place in the Persona 5 Vanilla ending, so no Akechi dodging the bullet of fate and no Maruki to come in and steal my fucking heart. Alas.
c. ALLEGEDLY this game is surprisingly good for being a genre-shifted spin-off done with Koei Tecmo.
d. yo this main title theme is a jam
I'm not buying your JackCoin, Atlus, go away.
MAN these games LOVE to start in medias res huh? I respect it. Our beloved boy is flipping and jumping along the rooftops of a city and being chased by a helicopter shadow. I ADORE the design of this gunship guy, with just a hand holding the gattling gun.
It feels like a bit of a in-joke between the game and the player to have Joker do a flying leap onto this helishadow to rip its mask off. HE HAS THE ONE MOVE, OKAY, IT'S ALL HE HAS.
Joker on Halloween needs to be tied up like a werewolf at the full moon or else he will just run around town ripping people's masks off.
Oooh I'm gonna need to remember to install a better font.
But ONCE AGAIN JOKER IS THE BAIT. He is always the bait. HE ONLY HAS THE ONE ROLE OKAY IT'S ALL HE HAS.
Cops are demons, got it. The only difference between MegaTen and IRL is that in MegaTen you can negotiate with them.
MUSUO SURE IS DIFFERENT FROM TURN BASED BATTLE HUH. Oh my god this is gonna take a grip to get used to, but the ability to summon Arsene on the fly is pretty sweet. So far, Joker is the only Persona MC who seems to have a more than surface-level relationship with his persona, and I really dig that. The others are just a bit of winkyface foreshadowing (Orpheus) or a dude who becomes super important late in the game with no build up (Izanagi). Arsene feels much more personal.
is this a ROAD TRIP GAME? are we going on a ROAD TRIP? also i love you, Yusuke, it's fucking the middle of summer and you STILL are in full pants and a fucking knee-length elegant coat.
Speaking of Yusuke, I am concerned. Can Sojiro just adopt him already???? Is anyone making sure Yusuke isn't fucking dead while Reverie and Morgana are gone? christ.
you look so much like a Chaz. you look like you were in an acoustic band from 1992 to 1995. you look like you have five piercings in each ear but use none of them because your stuffy cop job. you look like you do a half windor knot because you don't know how to do a proper one.
ANYWAY PLOT DUMP: It's the summer after the Phantom Thieves' whole big thang, and all of a sudden, people seem to be having changes of heart? Like, a finance minister suddenly confessed to documents tampering, three councilmen confessed to bribery and resigned, etc.
I love how he's "Bearded Man" but that's like barely a beard. Anyway, his name is Inspector Hasegawa.
lmao a full investigation of Reverie's life, please refer them to my liveblog, I got 'em covered. lemme save y'all time and sum up:
REVERIE'S CHILDHOOD: idk he lived in a small town or something and was just a kid
SHIDO THING: fuckhead Shido framed a fucking teenager for assault and subsequently threatened his entire future because y'all's politicians are morally bankrupt fuckwits and the stigma on criminals in japan is outrageous and the whole public record thing is yikes
MOVING TO TOKYO: everyone was awful all the time and treated Reverie like shit and you're all lucky to still have in-tact tires bc I would have been slashing them personally
METAVERSE: Reverie got in touch with his inner scene kid/drama student and turned into a phantom thief and did some shit that was frankly concerning ethically-speaking until the world nearly ended.
PAN-GALACTIC YARGLEBARGLE: big cup. catboy knock cup off table. world saved.
AKECHI: oh my god we don't have the time to summarize this shit
MARUKI: i miss him
A BOY AND HIS CAT: Reverie and Morgana went back to unnamed-small-town to restart their lives.
Boom, you're welcome.
Also wouldn't Sae have all the information these fools need? where is Sae. oh right she's a defense attorney now right. that's neat.
Ann, reknowned hater of Morgana, reaches out and rubs Morgana's head. With malice aforethought, I presume.
Okay okay I'll lay off.
thanks dad bye dad love you dad you're the best dad, dad.
boogie woogie woogie.
Everyone hangs out in the old attic and catches up. Futaba is doing well adjusting to school, and Haru is in college for business but seems to be trying to take every Ag class they will let her.
so like do you wanna lay you head in Reverie's lap and talk about it, Yusuke?
The crew decides to kick off summer with a barbecue, because nothing is more fun than being in 92F degree weather and then standing around a fucking fire, right?
oh no
OH HELL NO
WELL THREE CHEERS FOR CONSISTENT CHARACTERIZATION, YOU ARE ALL STILL AS DUMB AS A BOX OF PARTICULARLY DIM ROCKS
IS THAT FUCKING META
listen, I am a person who refuses to allow any google assistant or siri or what the fuck ever in my home. there are no listening devices allowed. my phone is set up to only listen to me when i physically press a button to allow it to hear me. this is madness.
There are no other options. Reverie Vantas the Fifth rides again!
